If I could describe what the menu was like ... I would get a literary award. So I'm just saying ... a dream..hope again soon

The menu was amazing: so many taste experiences and taste surprises in one meal!

The food was gorgious but a bit too expensive.

How about combining top international cuisine with truly regional, seasonal products, served by friendly, competent and dedicated staff? Voila Douce Steiner. So far I've avoided the two-star kitchen because I don't like old-fashioned fuss. No trace of that. Well worth a trip!

Once again, each time an experience for the palate

The menu lasts around 4 hours. The portions are very small. So I'm always hungry. Eat bread in between and wait for dessert. Now I've watched the other guests. They always eat bread to get full. The couple at the next table would even be told not to eat that much bread

Family atmosphere, the guest is welcome and spoiled from A to Z. We slept wonderfully after a grandiose menu with musical accompaniment and were allowed to sit at a wonderfully laid table before departure. We thank you for this nice short vacation and will definitely come again! ♥ ️

My wife and I went to eat here for the second time. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed this time, in addition to some good to very good courses (I had the menu douce, my wife the truffle menu) there were also some dropouts: The first greeting from the kitchen was a vegetable ball on spinach foam. Absolutely any taste, I've eaten better convenience food from the supermarket here. Well, not an official part of the menu, so what the heck - that's what I thought at the time. The next low point was the intermediate course “confit turbot in your own stock, flavored with miso, ginger, vervene and lime, palourde, lots of colorful pearls”. I can't understand how a 2-star cook can send such a dish out of the kitchen. From my point of view, the stock was simply inedible, disgustingly musty and sour, put the entire corridor down. The "many colored pearls" turned out to be 9 (is that "many"?) Hazelnut-sized balls of different types of vegetables. I can only call this raw food, so I had to bite into it. Was there a power outage in the kitchen or why couldn't the balls (they weren't pearls, underneath I imagine little balls carefully cut out) no heat? The next disappointment was to follow, the main course "Truffled breast and essence of Bresse poularde with king prawns, small ravioli, curly hen, white radish, poached quail egg". The breast of the chicken was just too dry, a tough piece of meat. The brew in which the whole dish floated was indefinable in terms of taste, again very arbitrary, completely without depth. But it was the service who shot the bird. A waitress called to me as I passed, not to eat so much bread. I beg your pardon?!? Actually I should have left the shop at this point, you can't deal with paying guests like that. To have more than 480 EUR on the bill for this “experience” was the death knell for an evening that we were really looking forward to. Unfortunately, that was nothing, Frau Steiner. For me, the 2-star rating of this restaurant is in no way understandable. There was already light and shadow on our first visit 3 years ago, but the perfect Alsatian pigeon tore it out. Unfortunately not this time. We will definitely not be back.

Super tasty - very nice, uncomplicated atmosphere

this meal is a sensual experience. Perfect !!! the staff very courteous. the hotel nice and cozy. So much individual little things and attentions can only be found in a family-run hotel, exceptional at the highest level and still relaxed and cozy. Thank you very much .

We had the great pleasure of being guests at the Hirschen on New Year's Eve. Once again I cannot put into words what you conjured up on the table for us. That was really great art and we will reminisce for a long time. Many thanks to the whole team in front of and behind the scenes and the excellent support at the table.

Refined dining, top notched service, setting of the dining room is a bit cramped but charming.

The food was very, very good, for the palate as well as for the eye. The wines have also tasted very good. Eating at Douce Steiner is worth the trip!

An unforgettable experience with the finest cuisine. Each course is quite complex and combines various ingredients into a harmonious poem. A complex sauce with every dish. The dormitory right behind the Hirschen is an insider tip. And a visit to the Romanesque church is always worthwhile.

Outstanding service, neat ambience, very fine food and always worth a visit

Excellent dining restaurant in a historic building in the center of Sulzburg. I was here for the first time with a business group, we had a pre-ordered 7-course menu. The individual courses were perfectly matched, excellently prepared and served by a very attentive and competent service. Here is cooked with passion and attention to detail, everything was wonderful! Happy again at any time :-)

A very fine - if traditional - meal at this Michelin establishment. Well executed dishes with interesting flavor pairings. Service attentive but not overbearing. Reasonable value for the experience.
